The New York Mets (32-48) were defeated by the Miami Marlins (34-50) this afternoon for the second day straight with the score of 5-2.

Pitching:

Jacob deGrom pitched six solid innings giving up three earned runs, striking out six, and walking one. DeGrom got his fourth loss of the year putting his record at (5-4) now, though he had just two runs to work with.

Robert Gsellman pitched the seventh inning giving up two unearned runs.

In the eighth inning, Anthony Swarzak came in for relief and pitched a scoreless inning.

Hitting:

Jose Bautista got the Mets the lead in the top of the first inning this afternoon, as he cranked a towering solo shot to the left-field seats to give the Mets a 1-0 lead two batters into the game.

In the top of the sixth inning on a 0-2 count, Todd Frazier hits a solo homer to left center field to give the Mets a 2-0 lead.

The rest of the offense was silenced for the remainder of the game. Mets were 0-for-4with runners in scoring position with five runners left on base.

The New York Mets will be playing the finale of the three-game series against the Miami Marlins tomorrow. The Mets will be trying to avoid the three-game sweep. Steven Matz will be getting the start and Dan Straily will be getting the ball for the Miami Marlins. The game time will be at 1: 10 p.m.
