In his quest to return to the New York Mets, third baseman Todd Frazier will take his rehab assignment to Coney Island and play for the Single-A Short Season Brooklyn Cyclones, as per Jacob Resnick of MMO.
He is expected to play in the Cyclones’ 11:30 a.m. game tomorrow as well as Wednesday night’s 7 p.m. game, both against the Tri-City Valley Cats (Astros affiliate).
In two rehab games for Advanced-A St. Lucie, Frazier went 1-for-5 with a double and two RBI, playing a total of ten innings in two games at third.
Frazier, 32, has been on the disabled list since July 9 with a strained rib cage muscle. He is hitting .217/.300/.385 this season with ten home runs, 32 runs batted in, and eight doubles.
