Todd Frazier tweeted that he is headed back to New York to rejoin the ball club. There has been no indication yet as to whether he will arrive in time for today’s game against the Cubs, let alone whether or not he will be activated before first pitch. The most likely scenario is that he will be activated prior to Tuesdays game against the Orioles.

He will be welcomed back profusely as his bat has been sorely missed. Since he went on the disabled list after the Mets’ May 7th win against the Reds, the team has gone just 9-13. Further, the Mets have been the worst team in the Majors against left-handed pitching, something Frazier excels at with a career .807 OPS.

Upon his return, the Mets will either send slick-fielding Luis Guillorme back to Triple-A or designate struggling Jose Reyes for assignment. While we all know what the Mets should do, we also know what probably will happen.

Before his injury, the 32-year-old Frazier was hitting .237/.357/.412 with five home runs and 21 RBIs.
