K-Rod is on fire!
Fracisco Rodriguez tossed 0.2 scoreless innings yesterday at Chicago to extended his scoreless inning streak to 19.2 innings, the longest active streak in the majors.
Rodriguez has converted 15 straight save chances, his longest such stretch since saving 16 straight to start the 2009 season.
Rodriguez is second in the majors with 15 saves and fourth among major league relievers with a 0.70 ERA.

After last night’s game, Mets’ closer Francisco Rodriguez said he would consider waiving his vesting option for next season and limited no-trade clause if an interested team is willing to give him a new multiyear deal.
The NY Post reported that Rodriguez’ preference is to still remain with the Mets.
“Definitely I would like to stay here. Sometimes people think they want to jump to another ship when things are not good, but in this case, I would rather stay here all the way and hopefully the door is open to one more year or two more years. It’s not on my mind to leave, but it’s up to them to see what we’re going to do.”
K-Rod has a 10-team no-trade clause. He also has a vesting option for 2012 that kicks in at $17.5 million with 55 games finished. Otherwise, he receives a $3.5 million buyout.
This is definitely some good news for the Mets as it makes K-Rod more tradeable.
