Shortstop Francisco Lindor fielded questions from the Mets beat this afternoon at his press conference at Citi Field.

Fresh off his brand new 10-Year, $341 million dollar extension deal with the Mets, Lindor was part humble and excited for the fuure of the team.

“I’m honored to wear the blue and orange and can’t wait to grow my relationship with Steve Cohen and the Mets ownership and the Mets organization.”

Francisco had a special message for the fans too.

“To the fans in New York, here we go baby, here we go. We have 11-years together! I can’t wait to bring a championship to the city.”

Over the past four to five days Lindor said he was very optimistic that a deal was going to get done because all sides wanted it.

“It was a matter of getting to that sweet spot.”

“It meant a lot more that I was in a great city, with a great group of people, and that my family feels the most comfortable.”

Francisco called signing his contract last night, “a dream come true and a humbling experience.”

Like most of us, Lindor was disappointed to learn tonight’s season opener has been postponed.

“I was bummed when I found out…  I really wanted this one.”

“I wanted to see some jets flying over me today. I wanted to see some flags on the field. I wanted to see fans, man.”
