Soup’s up! Just when we thought that Eric Campbell had left for good, he’s back.

The 29 year old utility man will join the Mets for their doubleheader against Pittsburgh tonight.

However a stipulation in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement only makes him eligible for the second game of the doubleheader as the team’s 26th man.

In his first go around with the big league club, Campbell slashed a dismal .159/.270/.222 over 63 at-bats while playing mostly first base.

Still a true utility man, he also made appearances at second base, third base and left field.

He’ll likely see action as a pinch hitter or defensive replacement later tonight.
