Mets’ beloved third baseman David Wright joined the team in San Francisco after rehabbing with Single-A St. Lucie and Triple-A Las Vegas this month.

However, manager Mickey Callaway said yesterday that Wright has not been “cleared medically” to play in a Major League game.

The first-year manager added that there is a “different medical threshold” that is required to play in a Major League game as opposed to a Minor League one.

However, Wright believes that he is capable of playing this year for the Mets, and will transcend any obstacles thrown at him.

The 35-year-old added that he has spoken with the front office, and they have not once brought up money as a factor in not activating him.

“They have never once brought [the insurance] up to me,” Wright said, referring to the front office. “They didn’t bring it up today, and I never brought it up to them so I don’t know. That is certainly above what I am thinking right now. I am thinking baseball. I’m not thinking the reasons why or why not.

“I have been told I need to do certain things to become activated and I’m willing to do that. I’m going to reach those things for sure.”

If Wright is activated, the team will be on the hook for paying the entirety of his salary. If he does not play, however, they recoup 75 percent of it.

However, Wright acknowledges he still does have some work to do before he can play at a high level again, though he believes he will ultimately be capable.

“I certainly don’t want to go out there, a ball I should be able to get to I don’t and Jacob deGrom gets charged for an earned run or something like that,” Wright said. “So part of that is I want to make sure I am caught up to speed as much as I can and the team wants to see that also.”

A main factor for him is having his daughters see him play.

“I have got two young daughters who have never seen me play, so it would mean a lot to me to have them there,” he said. “It would certainly mean a lot for the Met fans. Anywhere I go … the amount of support and love that has been shown has been overwhelming.”

Wright is a seven time All-Star, and is signed through the 2020 season.
