The Mets announced that Travis d’Arnaud will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Binghamton on Sunday.

The young Mets catcher has been on the concussion disabled list since taking a backswing off his helmet on May 13 during an Alfonso Soriano at-bat at Yankee Stadium.

D’Arnaud passed both of his post-concussion tests and was cleared for baseball activities by team doctors on Thursday. He has been taking part in the team’s batting practice as well as fielding and throwing drills.

He should be back after a couple of games with the B-Mets, at which time Juan Centeno will be return to Triple-A Las Vegas to make room for him.

D’Arnaud was hitting .196 with a .274 on base percentage before the injury, with three doubles, three home runs and eight RBI over 114 plate appearances.
