Travis d’Arnaud has been cleared by team doctors for baseball activities, according to Kristie Ackert of the Daily News.
Additionally, d’Arnaud will be going back to an old school helmet and mask now.
May 21
Terry Collins told reporters a short while ago that Travis d’Arnaud has passed preliminary concussion tests and will see a doctor on Thursday.
D’Arnaud must still pass a post-concussion test before he can be cleared and activated according to MLB rules.
After he is examined tomorrow and assuming he passes the final test, he could soon be cleared for a return.
May 20
Sandy Alderson told reporters at Citi Field that catcher Travis d’Arnaud is still dealing with concussion symptoms when he exercises or exerts himself.
D’Arnaud was expected to be activated from the seven day concussion DL on Wednesday, but that now appears very unlikely.
Alderson said he doesn’t have a timetable for his return.

Sandy Alderson announced that Travis D’Arnaud will be placed on the 7-day disabled list and that Juan Centeno has been activated.
Although he wasn’t expected to play tonight anyway, catcher Travis d’Arnaud was still ailing after taking a backswing off helmet during the second game of the series in the Bronx.
D’Arnaud has suffered from headaches since last night and into this afternoon, which prompted the Mets to send him to team doctors where he underwent a battery of concussion tests and the decision was made to place him on the DL.
The rookie catcher is hitting .196 with a .274 on base percentage this season with three doubles, three home runs and eight RBI over 114 plate appearances.
