New York Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson has completely turned his 2017 season around after hitting only .128/.174/.221 in April.

The Mets were patient with Grandy, as they should of been, and have been rewarded with a great stretch that started in May.

In the month of May, the 36-year-old slashed .273/.363/.511 with 14 extra base hits, 16 runs scored and 13 RBI. The veteran has been even better in June so far, hitting .321/.439/.660 with five home runs.

The Mets have fallen to 32-41 on the season and are getting ready to sell off pending free agents like Granderson who could be a valuable commodity on the trade market.

Grandy can play all three outfield positions having rated positively in DRS in left field and right this season. He still has pop with 65 home runs and a .456 slugging percentage over the last three seasons.

He’s also played in 51 playoff games during his career, is known for being a great player to have in the clubhouse and can hit in a variety of different spots in the lineup.

Trading Granderson and/or Jay Bruce allows the Mets to write Michael Conforto into the lineup everyday and see what Brandon Nimmo can do with more at-bats as well.

Grandy will certainly be missed in the Mets clubhouse, but he should bring back a solid prospect in return that may help the Mets in the future.
