Michael Conforto got the start against a lefty on Friday night and had three hits in the New York Mets 11-4 win over the San Francisco Giants.

All three hits came off a lefty including a double and knocked in two runs. His slash line against lefties this season is now up to .283/.377/.522 in 53 plate appearances.

The young outfielder came into Friday night struggling overall with a .634 OPS in June with 19 strikeouts in 19 games.

With Juan Lagares on the disabled list and the likely trade of at least one of Jay Bruce and Curtis Granderson, Terry Collins will be forced to start Conforto everyday even against tough lefties.
