With Hurricane Irene inflicting millions of dollars worth of damage throughout our region, the Mets have announced that Citi Field sustained no damage and that the team intends to play both games of Monday’s doubleheader against the Marlins as scheduled.

The Marlins and Mets will play a rare five-game series in the next four days, with shortstop Jose Reyes expected to play in one of the games tomorrow.

Reyes went 2-for-5 with an infield single on Saturday to finish a three-game rehab assignment. In the three games against Altoona, Reyes finished 3-for-9, including a deep home run to right-center on Friday night.
