Tim Healey of Newsday reports that the New York Mets have hired Chad Kreuter to manage Triple-A Syracuse in 2020.
Kreuter, 55, had managed High-A St.Lucie since 2017 and was set to do so again for a fourth season this year before the promotion.
Parting ways with Carlos Beltran has created a coaching carousel of sorts with Luis Rojas becoming the Mets’ manager, Brian Schneider replacing him as the Mets’ quality control coach, and Kreuter replacing Schneider as Syracuse’s manager.
The organization will now have to find a replacement to manage the St.Lucie Mets. MMO’s own Mathew Brownstein interview Kreuter in November.
