The New York Mets announced that outfielder Yoenis Cespedes left Saturday night’s Rumble Ponies game with tightness in his right quad.

Cespedes, who was scheduled to play five innings in left field, left after two at-bats and two defensive innings. He was 2-for-2 with two doubles in his plate appearances in his second rehab game.

The 32-year-old originally went on the disabled list with a right hip flexor strain, so this obviously is cause for concern. The plan was originally for Cespedes to play one series with the Rumble Ponies, the Mets Double-A team, in Trenton against the Thunder and then rejoin the MLB team, but this certainly throws a wrench in those plans.

Before his injury, Cespedes hit .255/.316/.474 with eight home runs and 28 RBIs in 37 games.
