Yoenis Cespedes returned from the disabled list on Friday night against the New York Yankees and hit like the Cespedes of old.

He homered and looked fine for the most part but dropped a bombshell in his post game interactions after the New York Mets 7-5 win.  He told reporters that some point in the future, he would need surgery in both his heels due to calcification.

He also needs 8-10 months of recovery time so the smart thing would be to get it done now and have him ready for the start of 2019.

Speaking of Cespedes and his injuries, he also told reporters he saw fans accusing of him of not working hard to come back. He said that is not the case and he chooses not to respond to those who criticize him because he does not want to stoop their level. Reminder that Cespedes did volunteer to learn first base.

The 32-year-old is under contract with the Mets for two more seasons following 2018.
