According to Buster Olney of ESPN on Twitter, the Mets do not expect to have a deal in place for infielder Asdrubal Cabrera as the 4 p.m. non-waiver trade deadline approaches.

With Addison Reed being dealt earlier in the day, the Mets may very well be done dealing for the afternoon.

The remaining players the Mets have dangled to other teams will likely be moved in August when all is said and done.

Original report, 10:13 a.m. –

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Mets are “way less optimistic” they will be able to move Asdrubal Cabrera today as they’re putting all their focus in maximizing the return for Addison Reed.

Sherman also tweeted that the Mets know Reed wouldn’t pass through waivers, but revisiting a waiver deal in August with Cabrera, Jay Bruce, Curtis Granderson, and/or Neil Walker could work.

He did reiterate that he thinks the Mets will be the busiest team today as they try to find a home for all the above players before 4 p.m.

The latest team interested in Addison Reed is the Indians, which you can read more about here.
