New Mets team president Sandy Alderson announced on Friday that Brodie Van Wagenen, Adam Guttridge, Allard Baird, Jared Banner, and Omar Minaya are all leaving the Mets organization.

Brodie released this statement on Friday:

Alderson released a statement on the moves, “I want to thank Brodie, Allard, Adam and Jared for their contributions over the last two years. I especially want to thank Omar for his long and distinguished service to the Mets in many important capacities.”

The news comes very shortly after the Mets sale to billionaire Steve Cohen became official.

Sources tell me that A’s assistant GM Billy Owens and Rays’ special assistant to the GM Bobby Heck are two names to watch for Mets front office hires. Former Mets minor league coordinator and bench coach, Dick Scott, could also return to the Mets organization in some capacity.

My sources also indicate that Mets draft gurus Tommy Tanous and Marc Tramuta are expected to stay with the club.
