Steve Cohen is officially the new owner of the New York Mets. He tweeted to confirm the sale was finalized: “It’s official, we are closed.” Cohen made an official statement, shared by the Mets via Twitter, following the news: “This is a significant milestone in the history of this storied franchise. I want to thank everybody who helped make this happen. The 2021 season is right around the corner and we’ve got a lot of work to do, so I’m excited to get started. Let’s Go Mets!” Cohen’s introductory press conference will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.
