MLB Pipeline updated their top 100 prospects list this weekend and Mets’ first-round pick, Brett Baty, joined the list while two Mets remained and one fell off of it.

Baty, 19, was ranked as the 85th best prospect, one spot behind Mets shortstop prospect, Ronny Mauricio. Meanwhile, Andres Gimenez slid far down the list to 94th and Anthony Kay was removed from it entirely.

So far in his young career, Baty has played for the GCL Mets and Kingsport. After surging for five games in the GCL, Baty has struggled since his promotion to Kingsport with a combined slash line between the two levels of .197/.330/.382 to go along with three homers and 15 RBI.

Mauricio, 18, is hitting .281/.321/.380 with three home runs and 24 RBI this season at Low-A Columbia in which he has played 89 games.

Gimenez, 20, has struggled at Double-A Binghamton in 2019, hitting .246/.308/.371 with five home runs and 27 RBI despite having an incredible month of July.

Kay, 24, had a phenomenal start to his year for Binghamton as he registered a 7-3 record to go along with a 1.49 ERA, 0.920 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts in 12 starts (66 1/3 innings).

That prompted the Mets to promote him to Triple-A Syracuse where he has so far struggled to replicate his dominance in Double-A. Kay has a 6.61 ERA, 1.628 WHIP, and 26 strikeouts in seven starts (31 1/3 innings) for Syracuse.

MLB Pipeline also updated every MLB team’s top 30 prospects list. For the Mets, three 2019 draft picks joined Baty on the list in Matthew Allan (fifth), Josh Wolf (11th), and Jake Mangum (26th).
