Atlanta Braves beat reporter Mark Bowman is reporting that the Braves have signed shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria.

The New York Mets waived Hechavarria on Tuesday and he became a free agent after going unclaimed.  Reportedly, the Mets designated Hechavarria because he was due to receive a $1 million roster bonus.

Hechavarria, 30, batted .204/.252/.359 with five homers, seven doubles, 18 RBIs, and a 62 wRC+ over 151 plate appearances for New York this season.

In corresponding moves, the Braves optioned Johan Camargo and Adam Duvall to Triple-A Gwinnett and Bryse Wilson has been recalled.
