The Atlanta Braves have agreed to a minor league deal with former Met Eric Young, Jr. according to MLB.com’s Mark Bowman.

Young, 29, was acquired by the Mets from the Rockies in June 2013, and finished the season as the stolen base champ with 46 bases swiped.

In 2014, Young stole 30 bases, but only managed to hit at a .229/.299/.311 clip, leading to the Mets non-tendering him instead of giving him the 2.3 million dollar contract he was set to earn.

I love Eric Young, and somewhat sad that he won’t be on our team this year. When he was on base, he was a guy to watch and distracted the opposition. Not to mention, his electricity was contagious and he seemed like a great clubhouse guy and a nice guy in general. Now he’ll playing for the rival Braves, assuming he makes the team out of spring training. Best of luck to you, EY!
