The Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies, Single-A Brooklyn Cyclones and Low-A St. Lucie Mets each released rosters today for the 2024 season.

The Binghamton team is highlighted by five players who rank in the top 25 of Metsmerized Online’s list of top 75 prospects. SS/CF Jett Williams, #2 on the MMO list, hit .263/.425/.481/.876, across three minor league levels last season. The 20-year-old, a first-round pick in the 2022 draft, also hit 13 home runs and stole 45 bases in 52 attempts.

The others in the top 25 are C Kevin Parada (#8 on the MMO list), RHP Blade Tidwell (#12), Alex Ramírez (#19) and RHP Tyler Stuart (#20).

Binghamton’s season starts at home Friday vs. New Hampshire.

Brooklyn’s squad has four players on MMO’s list, including 1B/OF Ryan Clifford, who was acquired in the Justin Verlander trade. Clifford slashed .262/.374/.480/.854 and hit 24 home runs for three minor league teams last season in 511 plate appearances.

Others in the MMO top 25 are RHP Brandon Sproat (#15), RHP/DH two-way player Nolan McLean (#23), and RHP Calvin Ziegler (#24).

Brooklyn begins play on Friday at Wilmington.

For St. Lucie, infielder Marco Vargas (ranked #6), SS Colin Houck (#9), C/1B Ronald Hernandez (#21) and SS/2B Jesús Baez (#22) were in MMO’s top 25. Vargas and Hernandez were both acquired in the David Robertson trade with Miami.

Vargas slashed .275/.432/.389/.821 for three minor league teams last season. He had two home runs in 250 plate appearances and stole 13 bases in 17 attempts.

Injury Reports

Wilfredo Lara (No. 23) and Boston Baro (No. 25) suffered hamate fractures in spring and will miss Opening Day. According to Sam Dykstra of MLB PipelineLara is expected to join Brooklyn when he’s healthy.

Jacob Reimer (No. 15) suffered a pulled hamstring and will be out until at least mid-June.

The St. Lucie Mets open Friday at home vs. the Daytona Tortugas.
