Baseball America released their final significant update of their Top 100 prospects list for the season. Before the season started, the Mets had three players on the list in Francisco Alvarez at No. 48, Ronny Mauricio at No. 65, and Matthew Allan at No. 98.

The Mets now have four players in BA’s top 100 and here’s where they rank:

  • No. 14 catcher Francisco Alvarez: The 19-year-old has 22 home runs in 314 at-bats this season and has a .942 OPS combined between Low-A St. Lucie and High-A Brooklyn.
  • No. 52 third baseman/left fielder Brett Baty: The 21-year-old has a .291/.378/.471 slash line in 89 games between High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton.
  • No. 73 shortstop Ronny Mauricio: The 20-year-old entered this season with seven career home runs in 173 games and has 19 home runs in 103 games this season. He’s gone 6-for-12 since being promoted to Double-A Binghamton.
  • No. 89 3B/1B/LF Mark Vientos: The 21-year-old has a career-high 22 home runs and .927 OPS for the Double-A Rumble Ponies. He was recently promoted to Triple-A Syracuse, but has yet to play in a game.

As you can see, the Mets top four prospects have performed well on the offensive side in 2021 despite a lost 2020 season.
