The Houston Astros have signed right-handed pitcher Joe Smith to a two-year deal, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com.
Smith, 33, spent 2017 between the Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Indians and pitched to a 3.33 ERA, 2.10 FIP, 1.037 WHIP and had a 11.8 K/9 in 59 games (54 innings pitched).
The 11-year veteran will take his talents to the defending World Series champions after he passes his physical.
The deal is expected to be within the $12 million range total, according to McTaggart.
