Asdrubal Cabrera underwent an MRI on Sunday which revealed no ligament damage, Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said.
The hope is that Cabrera won’t have to miss an extended amount of time, and the fact that he doesn’t have a tear or any damage is a great sign.

New York Mets shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera left their game Saturday night against the Miami Marlins in the top of the third inning.
The apparent thumb injury came on a diving stop he made to start a double play earlier in the top of the third. Cabrera already had X-rays on his left thumb and they were negative.
Cabrera got the Mets offense on the board with an RBI double in the first inning and was 1 for 2 on the night before he departed.
The 31-year old infielder has also been nursing an ailing hamstring and knee that held him out of Thursday’s game.
