The National League Division Series continued on Wednesday night with the Braves beating the Phillies 3-0 behind six scoreless innings from Kyle Wright and the Padres beating the Dodgers 5-3 thanks to home runs from Manny Machado and Jake Cronenworth. Both series are now tied at 1-1 and will resume on Friday.

The American League Division Series had two games scheduled for Thursday, but the Guardians vs Yankees game has been postponed to Friday.

Seattle Mariners vs. Houston Astros (lead 1-0), 3:37 PM – TBS

The Astros won the first game of the series on a three-run walk-off homer by designated hitter Yordan Alvarez. The Mariners decided to use lefty starter Robbie Ray to pitch against Alvarez in the bottom of the ninth, but that backfired in the worst way.

Right-hander Luis Castillo (8-6, 2.99 ERA) will make the start on Thursday for the Mariners. The 29-year-old pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings in his Wild Card Series start against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Left-hander Framber Valdez (17-6, 2.82 ERA) gets the start for Houston. The American Leagues innings leader from 2022 with 201 1/3 innings will be making his first start of the 2022 postseason. He had a 2.77 ERA in his first seven playoff appearances before getting rocked for 10 runs in two World Series starts last year.
