Can the Astros retake a lead in the series before they ship back to Houston?
The Astros tied the series at two games apiece last night despite dealing with horrendous starting pitching the first four games. Game 1 starter Framber Valdez takes the mound again. On Oct. 15 he lasted just 2.2 innings, giving up three runs.
Houston’s offense finally woke up in the eighth and ninth innings on Tuesday night. Jose Altuve tied the game at two with a solo home run off Garrett Whitlock. In the ninth, the Astros batted around with two outs to score seven runs and eventually win 9-2.
Chris Sale makes his third start of the postseason and second of the series. In Game 1 he went 2.2 innings, allowing one run and five hits. He’s allowed six runs in 3.2 innings pitched this postseason.
Hunter Renfroe leads the Red Sox with eight career at-bats against Valdez. During Game 1 he doubled and drove in a run off of Valdez. Enrique Hernandez hit a solo home run.
