LHP Framber Valdéz (2-0, 1.50) vs LHP Blake Snell (1-1, 2.81)

Fresh off the heels of their late-inning, go-ahead home run off the Yankees’ Aroldis Chapman, the Rays look to take Game 1 of the ALCS against a confident Astros team.

Tampa Bay will send their ace, Blake Snell, to the mound to face off against Houston’s very own lefty, Framber Valdéz.

Snell’s first postseason start – a 5.2 IP, no run, nine-strikeout gem vs. the Blue Jays – was worth writing home about.

His second start, this time against the Yanks, was much less impressive. Snell went five, but allowed four runs (all earned) on six hits.

As for Valdez, both of his postseason outings thus far have been noteworthy. In his initial outing against the Twins in the ALWC, the lefty went five and allowed no runs while striking out five.

In his second outing vs. the A’s in the ALDS, Valdez was just as impressive, going seven while allowing just two earned runs and striking out four.
