Carson Benge has been removed from Friday’s game against the Pirates.

Benge made a fantastic catch in the bottom of the third, going up against the wall in the left-field corner at PNC Park to take an extra-base hit away from Ronny Simón. But Benge appeared to jam his wrist against the wall in the process. He stayed in left field for the rest of the inning, but was removed going into the bottom of the fourth.
Cristian Pache took over.
Shortly after his removal, the Mets announced Benge had left wrist soreness.
Benge had already gone 2-for-2 with two RBIs on Friday. He recorded one hit before the 36-minute delay, and another one afterwards in a four-run top of the third that gave the Mets a 5-0 lead.
Benge has gone 11 for his last 28 with a .714 slugging percentage. He’s hitting .304 over his last 30 games to raise his season average to .270 and OPS to .742. He had been batting cleanup on Friday.
Benge will presumably undergo X-rays on his wrist.
