Good morning, Mets fans!
Per Chelsea Janes of SNY, the Mets and Clay Holmes are expecting to begin extension talks in the coming days. Holmes has been out due to injury since mid-May, but he was spectacular early on in the season. Through nine starts, he has a 2.39 ERA after having a 3.53 ERA a year ago. There’s a possibility Holmes gets traded, but he’s clearly seen as part of the long-term plans.
