Basketball has triple-doubles. You could call what Mitch Voit did Friday night a double-triple. The 21-year-old shortstop connected for three hits and stole three bases in High-A Brooklyn’s 4-0 victory over Hudson Valley.
Voit is slashing .248/.358/.414 with 11 homers and leads the team in stolen bases with 34, which is tied for second in the South Atlantic League. The 2025 first-round pick out of Michigan stole 20 bases in 22 games at St. Lucie last year.
In other Brooklyn news, Clay Holmes will get the start Saturday in his first game action since his right fibula was fractured by a comebacker against the Yankees on May 15. Scouts will reportedly be in attendance. MMO’s Jack Markowski has more on Holmes’ return here.
