A lot of runs were scored by Mets minor league teams and we had some strong bounce back pitching performances. A certain veteran began his rehab assignment as well.

Triple-A

Postponed to July 8

Double-A

Binghamton (30-52) 10, Hartford (44-37) 4

Box Score

The Binghamton offense came out swinging scoring ten runs on nine hits and eleven walks. Kevin Parada has slowed down the last few weeks and has struggled since going to Double-A, slashing .222/.348/.333/.681 with five strikeouts to four walks. Chris Suero has struggled even more in July hitting .053/.250/.053/.303. But this game the bats came alive and had one of the Rumble Ponies best offensive performances of the season.

Channing Austin has been a true bright spot this season coming out of nowhere as an undrafted free agent in 2024. He was a reliever until midway through 2025 and the Mets have been converting him into a starting pitcher. He is fast approaching his season total of innings from 2025, so it seems the Mets are limiting his workload. After a rough first start in Double-A he only gave up one run in the last two.

High-A

Wilmington (41-40) 2, Brooklyn Cyclones (32-48) 1

Box Score

While Mitch Voit did not get a hit in this game, he was still productive working a walk and stealing a base. If he has a hot July, you would have to imagine he will get the promotion to Double-A soon. JT Benson is another undrafted free agent and he has impressed this season with a .909 OPS.

Noah Hall was drafted in the 20th round of the 2022 draft and his scoreless six innings is by far the best of his season. After a very rough start Hall has a 3.48 ERA and 1.49 WHIP since the start of June. He is still walking far too many batters at 16.7%, though that number is a bit skewed by one outing he walked five. His 26.7% strikeout rate on the other hand is good.

Single-A

St. Lucie (37-43) 11, Jupiter (42-40) 2

Box Score

After initially struggling post demotion Antonio Jimenez has bounced back and since mid-June he is slashing .283/.389/.550/.939. After slowing down in the second half of June, Trey Snyder is crushing it in July slashing .400/.478/.500/.978. He is an electric player to watch.

It seems every week Zack Mack has a game where he throws innings to get the win, so I wanted to give him his flowers here. Overall, the pitching staff did well and limited runs.

FCL Mets

FCL Mets (20-25) 1, FCL Cardinals (14-26) 0

Box Score

It’s a bird, it’s a plane! No, it’s Mike Tauchman finally playing the first game of what will likely be a full 20-day rehab program. He did not get a hit, but it was good to finally see him get into game action.

  • RHP Noah Hall: 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

Noah Hall continues his lengthy build up post tommy john surgery and continues to impress with his feel for spin. He went two innings and only allowed one baserunner.

DSL Mets Orange

DSL Mets Orange (15-13) 7, DSL Angels (19-7) 1

Box Score

Wandy Asigen has looked good since he returned from the injured list slashing .286/.643/.429/1.072. This was his first extra base hit of the season. Cleiner Ramirez and Jhonael Cuello continue to impress.

  • RHP Abner Meza: 5.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K (W)

The pitching staff only allowed one run despite walking four and giving up four hits.

DSL Mets Blue

DSL Marlins (11-15) 5, DSL Mets Blue (11-16) 4

Box Score

The offense did its job scoring four runs on five hits and five walks but unfortunately it was not enough.

The pitching staff struggled with their command walking seven leading to the loss.
