Good morning, Mets fans! I have had enough of Kyle Schwarber.
Francisco Lindor went 0-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base, a run scored, and played nine innings at shortstop in Triple-A Syracuse’s 5-3 victory over Norfolk on Sunday. Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reported that Lindor (strained left calf) is likely to return to the Mets this week, but probably not until at least Wednesday.
“I felt good,” Lindor said after the game. “I’m tired, but I felt really good.”
When Lindor returns, he will take over at short, Bo Bichette will move back to third, and Brett Baty will be a super sub, DiComo reported.

The Mets (34-43) dropped the rubber game to the Phillies 6-2 Sunday to finish a 2-4 road trip and fall six games back of the final Wild Card spot. The Mets are 27-27 since losing 12 games in a row in April.
David Peterson (3-6) was ineffective for the third time in a row, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits over four innings to raise his ERA to 6.09. Carson Benge connected off Zack Wheeler for his ninth homer, and A.J. Ewing had two hits, but the team struck out 14 times and went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position. 1987: Tom Seaver calls it a career. He rejoined the Mets in early June, but pitched poorly in an exhibition game against minor leaguers and in two simulated games vs. the Mets. “I can’t complain about anything,” the 12-time All-Star said at a Shea Stadium news conference. “I have had more than my share of accomplishments, championships, and good times. You have to know when it is time to go. Now this is the time for me to go.” Seaver spent 12 of his 20 seasons with New York and went 311-205 with a 2.86 ERA. He threw 61 shutouts (tied with Nolan Ryan for seventh all-time), 231 complete games, and struck out 3,640 (sixth all-time) in 4,783 innings.
1980: Claudell Washington hit three homers in a 9-6 road win over the Dodgers.
