Wednesday was a good day for the Mets’ minor league affiliates, as three of the four teams emerged victorious. Ryan Clifford homered and reached base three times to power Syracuse’s offense, while Channing Austin continued his breakout season with another strong outing for Brooklyn.

Triple-A

Syracuse 10, Buffalo 5

Every player in Syracuse’s starting lineup collected at least one hit. Clifford’s two-run homer was part of a four-run sixth inning, putting the game out of reach. Jared Young continued his rehab assignment, serving as the team’s designated hitter.

Jonah Tong was originally slated to start this game, but was scratched in case he is needed for the Mets’ series in Miami this weekend. Ben Simon earned the win in his Triple-A Debut, and Parker Carlson, who was recently promoted from Brooklyn, tossed two hitless innings of his own. A.J. Minter pitched on back-to-back days for the first time this year, allowing a run and a hit while walking one and hitting a batter. Minter’s fastball topped out at 92.7 mph. He will make one more rehab appearance and could rejoin the major league team on its upcoming home stand.

Double-A

Richmond 7, Binghamton 6

Jacob Reimer continued his strong month of May, pushing his OPS up to .926 since the calendar flipped. JT Schwartz clubbed a three-run homer off Matt “Tugboat” Wilkinson, his second long ball of the year, and Nick Lorusso chipped in an RBI single as part of a two-hit outing.

Jonathan Santucci got knocked around by the Richmond lineup, raising his ERA to 4.95 this season. Guillo Zuñiga and Dan Hammer held Richmond at bay, but the Flying Squirrels rallied for two runs against Saul Garcia in the ninth inning to hand the Rumble Ponies a walk-off defeat.

High-A

Brooklyn 5, Hudson Valley 0

Box Score

Nick Roselli opened the scoring with a two-run homer – his first of the season. Yonatan Henriquez collected two hits, and both times he was driven in by John Bay, who now has 20 RBIs on the season.

Austin was once again magnificent, lowering his season ERA to 1.17. Control has eluded him at times, but he issued just one free pass in his longest outing of the season. He has allowed just two earned runs in 21 2/3 innings this month.

Single-A

St. Lucie 4, Palm Beach 3

St. Lucie went 1-for-9 with men in scoring position, with Kevin Villavicencio‘s RBI single being the only run-scoring knock of the game. Julio Zayas was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and Yohairo Cuevas drove home with a sacrifice fly and a bases-loaded walk. Randy Guzman collected a pair of hits to raise his OPS to .833.

Daviel Hurtado was the only St. Lucie pitcher who didn’t issue a free pass on Wednesday, as the bullpen walked eight batters in six innings of work. The pitching staff combined to strand 14 runners, including two men in both the eighth and ninth innings. Joe Scarborough walked three men in the ninth, but was aided by catcher Chase Meggers, who caught Jonathan Mejía stealing third base. Scarborough balked another runner into scoring position, but struck out two to end the game.
