A.J. Ewing led Syracuse to victory with a walk-off RBI single, Jordan Geber had a solid outing in a Binghamton loss, Colin Houck hit his first home run of 2026 in a Brooklyn loss and St. Lucie took the loss on a day where Elian Peña did not play.

Syracuse had their all-prospect outfield playing, and while they only went 2-for-13, Ewing delivered the biggest hit of the day with a single to win the game. After a rough start to the season, Ryan Clifford is slashing .286/.348/.476 in May with only six strikeouts in 21 at-bats compared to the 34 strikeouts he had in 83 at-bats during April.

The back-end of the Syracuse bullpen was strong today, with the law firm of Lambert, Pintaro and Ross allowing one hit over three innings while striking out six. Lambert has started the season without great control, but is still striking out batters and limiting hits.

Double-A

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (11-19) 3, Hartford Yard Goats (13-16) 5

BOX SCORE

The Ponies were running today, led by Swiss Army knife Chris Suero getting the start in left field and stealing two bases from the leadoff spot. Despite this, they could only muster three runs while going 0-for-5 with RISP. Parada is slashing .136/.240/.182 in May.

Houck hit his first home run of the 2026 season, but is striking out in nearly 50% of his at-bats and owns a .230/.296/.333 slash line. Sam Biller, after tearing the cover off the ball in St. Lucie, has struggled in Brooklyn but stole his first base of the season.

Jonathan Jimenez has struggled in his introduction to High-A, allowing three runs or more in every start and failing to get out of the fifth inning while allowing hitters to tee off at a .322 clip.

St. Lucie struck out 14 times on Thursday, with only seven baserunners. Peña got the day off and the offense struggled. AJ Salgado, after a hot April, has cooled down, slashing .218/.280/.478 in May.
