Good morning, Mets fans!

Mets pitcher Max Scherzer said he is “absolutely not” getting involved in the next CBA talks, according to Britt Ghiroli of The Athletic. He was one of the most vocal and active players during the extended lockout that delayed the start of spring training. He said before the start of spring that he “drank a lot” when negotiations were finally settled and that he was happy to have all that behind him.

Speaking of Scherzer, he gave up one run in five innings in his Mets spring debut Monday as the Mets lost their second straight spring training game, 3-0 to the Marlins. They’ll be back in action against the Astros today at 6:10 p.m.

Let’s get into this morning’s briefing.
