The Mets look to win their last game of the season today and take the series from the Braves. It has been a year of ups and downs for the Mets, who led the division for over 100 days and have now have clinched a losing record. The Mets battled against injuries all season long and created an interesting mix of positive memories (bench mob!) and some infamous memories.

There’s the possibility for a lot of roster changes this off-season. But for today, we get to the see this group of Mets again for one last time.

Mets Lineup

UPDATE: Luis Guillorme was scratched. José Peraza will take his place.

Noah Syndergaard surprised us all with an opener in the second game of a doubleheader earlier this week. He will be the opener again today as he continues to show the world his stuff after so long away from the game. He only threw fastballs and changeups in the start. He struck out the first two batters he faced and got the third batter to ground out.

The Braves have the following numbers against Syndergaard:

The Mets bats draw Charlie Morton for the finale.

In 32 starts and 183 innings of work, Morton has a 3.39 ERA, 3.20 FIP, 1.055 WHIP and a 130 ERA+. Morton has already faced the Mets four times this season, totaling 24 innings. He’s done well, holding the Mets to seven runs on 13 hits (2.63 ERA) while striking out 31 batters.

The Mets have the following career numbers against him:

Game Notes

Today is actually game No. 161 for Atlanta. They won’t need to make up a game against the San Diego Padres from a couple weeks ago because it won’t have implications on the playoffs.

Luis Rojas said there was “no point” in having Javier Báez start Sunday after battling injuries all year. Báez is a free agent and will enter the open market coming off a torrid two months with the Mets.

Let’s go Mets!
