Brandon Nimmo left Game 1 of Saturday’s game with right hamstring tightness, the Mets says.

Nimmo suffered the injury when running out a Francisco Lindor groundout to end the top of the second inning. He was started limping when he nearly reached third base, and continued around the base until Lindor was called out.

He was seen in the dugout visibly frustrated following the inning, and he was replaced by Albert Almora Jr. in center field.

Nimmo had been 2-for-2 with an RBI, run scored and a stolen base in two innings before departing. He was slashing .302/.420/.415 through 320 plate appearances on the year before the injury. He also leads in the Mets in fWAR (2.9) and was the team’s everyday center fielder when healthy.

The 28-year-old “pinched” his hamstring on a diving catch on July 30, but he only missed one game. He pinch hit in the next two, then started again August 3.
