Update as of 6:00 p.m.:
According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Jeff McNeil left today’s game with gastrointestinal discomfort (likely a stomach bug).
Original post:
As per the SNY broadcast, Jeff McNeil left today’s game in the fourth inning due to an apparent injury.
McNeil – who was manning second base and leading off in today’s matchup – was seen walking into the dugout tunnels with head trainer Brian Chiklo in between innings.
It was also noted that Luis Guillorme had previously been walking through the Mets dugout with a glove in hand.
McNeil then proceeded to walk through the stands to the opposing clubhouse with a bat still in hand. In the top of the fourth, Guillorme entered to replace McNeil at second.
Updates will be provided as they become available.
