MLB is considering holding the postseason in a bubble-type format, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. It is not yet clear where the bubble will be, however.
“Our only chance is to start planning a postseason bubble,” one team president said last week. There is believed to be a “significant amount of backing” around the league as well.
The New York Mets fell 16-4 in a devastating loss to the Washington Nationals at Citi Field. Not only did the Mets allow their most runs since their 25-4 loss at Nationals Park on July 31, 2018, but they also tied for their most runs ever allowed in a game at Citi Field.
On Tuesday, the Nationals and the Mets will face off again at Citi Field as Rick Porcello (1-1, 6.92 ERA) will take the hill for the Mets against Max Scherzer (0-1, 3.29 ERA) The game is set to begin at 7:10 PM EST, will be televised on SNY and can be heard on WCBS 880 AM. Let’s go Mets!

Jeff Passan of ESPN reported that Houston Astros hitting coach Alex Cintron made a vile comment to Oakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano, prompting Laureano to charge the Astros’ bench Sunday and leading to a brawl expected to result in lengthy suspensions.
Passan of ESPN also reported that Cleveland Indians pitcher Mike Clevinger went out with teammate Zach Plesac in Chicago on Saturday night in violation of team protocol. Clevinger was scratched from his scheduled start Tuesday and will quarantine after flying with the team Sunday.
According to Jon Lemire of Sport Techie, MLB has installed Hawk-Eye to power Statcast at Buffalo’s Sahlen Field in advance of the Blue Jays’ first home game on Tuesday.
The St. Louis Cardinals’ next scheduled matchup will be postponed, per a league announcement. The team had been set to resume play on Thursday in a doubleheader against the Tigers.
Per Joel Sherman of the New York Post, there is no official word on when the Cardinals can restart their season.
The Los Angeles Dodgers announced that right-handed reliever Joe Kelly has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to inflammation in his right shoulder.
The Texas Rangers announced that they have signed infielder Derek Dietrich to a minor league contract and assigned him to their alternate training site.
