Good Morning Mets fans! The Mets lost the rubber game to the Phillies on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 3-2. They have now lost 4 out of their last 5 games on this road trip.

Zack Wheeler pitched seven innings and only allowed three runs, but the Mets offense was unable to figure out Phils starter Jake Arrieta. Although pitching has been the main issue to start the season, the Amazin’s offense was nowhere to be found yesterday tallying a mere two runs on seven hits.

The Mets are now headed to St. Louis to face the Cardinals on Friday night with an off day coming today. Despite the original plan to start Jacob deGrom in the first game of this series, he will now be pushed back to Saturday due to a case of strep throat.

Instead, the struggling Jason Vargas will look to get things back on track, both for himself and the team as a whole. Vargas will go up against Adam Wainwright on Friday. First pitch is at 8:15 p.m. E.T and the game will be televised on SNY.

Now lets take a look at what else went on around the league on Wednesday!
