After winning Friday night on a walk-off grand slam, the rest of the weekend was pretty awful for the Mets. New York ruined a great outing by Steven Matz by almost getting no hit, and yesterday the team just struggled on just about every level. The reward for that? The Mets play a single admission double header today against two of the best pitchers for the Philadelphia Phillies. In the first game of the doubleheader, it’s Zack vs Zach.

The Mets today promoted 2018 first round pick Jarred Kelenic from the Gulf Coast League to rookie league Kingsport.

After losing 3-0 yesterday and 9-0 today. The Mets were shut out in back-to-back games for the second time this year (also: 7-0 on May 2 vs. Atlanta and 11-0 on May 3 vs.Atlanta). The Rays posted consecutive shutouts for the second time this season (also: 11-0 June 25 vs. Washington and 1-0 on June 26 at Washington).

Brandon Nimmo reached base twice today with a single (the Mets first hit to lead off the seventh inning) and one walk. Nimmo entered yesterday 11th in the NL with a .384 OBP.
