Mickey Callaway said today that Yoenis Cespedes will get “live at-bats” against a Mets pitcher on Tuesday.
That will be the determining factor of whether or not he will need a rehab assignment.

Anthony Dicomo of MLB.com reports that Yoenis Cespedes started running on Friday for the first time since going on the disabled list with a strained right hip flexor on May 16.
The left fielder had been struggling to move around when he was still on the team, as he was clearly not 100% despite playing almost every day for a couple of weeks before finally being placed on the disabled list.
Previously, the two-time All-Star had only been taking batting practice, in which he had hit multiple homers.
Cespedes is hitting .255/.316/.474 with eight home runs, 28 RBI, and 50 strikeouts in 137 at-bats on the season.
The 32-year old will likely need a couple of rehab games before returning, but those could come very soon with Cespedes running now.
In the meantime, the team is set to continue using Brandon Nimmo, Michael Conforto, and Jay Bruce in the outfield.
