Topps recently released their 2018 Series 1 Baseball set just in time for spring training and the start of a new baseball season and card collecting season. The 350 card set features full bleed photography and a crisp and clean design with enhanced graphic name plates.
Packed inside this 350 card set are 11 regular issue cards featuring the New York Mets, including some stunning In-Action high resolution photography. Take a look at these beauties:

As you can see, the Dominic Smith and Amed Rosario cards both have the Rookie Card designation RC as they make their debut in the regular issue set for Topps. Yoenis Cespedes looks like he just clocked one out of the park, and the Mets are hoping he can avoid the DL in 2018 and have an MVP-like campaign..

Michael Conforto looks like he’s going to jump off the card and it’s clearly one of the best cards in the 11-card Mets set. Conforto is expected to miss the first month of the season, but big things are expected from the former first rounder who oozes with star potential.

Watch out and give Travis d’Arnaud some room to make the catch. Can you imagine a shot like this of Gary Carter in the seventies or eighties? It’s amazing how much improved the in-action cards have become over the years. This is a crossroads season for d’Arnaud who will share time with Kevin Plawecki.

Matt Harvey, Steven Matz and Zack Wheeler are all returning from injury-marred seasons and come to camp each fighting for a rotation spot. Only two of the three will likely make the opening day rotation, with the other either going to the bullpen or even Triple-A to begin the season.

There goes Wilmer Flores strutting into his home run trot after blasting one over the wall. Flores is once again expected to fill a utility role for the Mets while giving the team a lethal bat against left-handed pitching.

A.J. Ramos was a late addition to the Mets at last season’s trade deadline, and according to new manager Mickey Callaway he will be in a closer committee with Jeurys Familia and Anthony Swarzak. Meanwhile Topps must have foreseen the return of Jose Reyes who was re-signed for $2.5 million dollars and will fill a utility role for the Mets.

One of the best Insert Cards in the Series 1 set is this stunning Fabric and Auto card of Hall of Famer and former Met, Nolan Ryan. Only one such card was produced and I’m jealous of the lucky collector who can pull this rare beauty.
