The Mets announced Saturday that they have activated infielder Jose Reyes from the disabled list and promoted outfielder Travis Taijeron from Triple-A Las Vegas.

In corresponding moves, New York has placed outfielder Yoenis Cespedes on the disabled list and optioned pitcher Kevin McGowan to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Reyes, 34, has been sidelined since Aug. 17 with a left oblique strain.

The veteran has nine homers and 39 RBI with a .223/.286/.375 slash line and a -1.3 WAR in 113 games for New York this season.

Taijeron, 28, has spent the entirety of this season with the 51’s, appearing in 125 games, hitting .272/.383/.525 with 25 homers and 78 RBI in 533 at-bats.

The outfielder has been in the Mets system since he was selected by New York in the 18th round of the 2011 first-year players draft.

Getting sent down is relief pitcher Kevin McGowan.

McGowan, 25, pitched in just one game for the Mets earlier this week, going 1.1 innings allowing one run on two hits.

With roster expansion approaching on Sept. 1, expect the righty to be back up with the team once again.

Lastly, Cespedes will likely miss the remainder of the season with a right hamstring strain.

The 31-year-old has been plagued with injuries all season and this is just the icing on the cake.

In 80 games, Cespedes hit .292/.350/.540 with 17 long balls and 42 RBI.
