New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto continued his strong start to the season on Friday night reaching base three more times from the leadoff spot.

The young outfielder went 2 for 4 with a solo home run in the first inning, a walk and made another nice play in the outfield defensively.

Conforto is now slashing an impressive .345/.417/.690 on the season with three home runs, seven runs scored and seven RBI in just 29 at-bats.

Last night was the third time this season that Conforto has started in the leadoff spot as the Mets keep looking for an alternative to the struggling Jose Reyes. He has gone 4 for 12 with two home runs, three walks and five runs scored in those three starts.

With Yoenis Cespedes currently banged up and Lucas Duda on the disabled list shifting Jay Bruce to first base, Conforto should see plenty of playing time in the near future.
