Another member of the New York Mets family has left us.

Former Mets manager Dallas Green has reportedly died at 82 years old, according to Phillies beat writer Todd Zolecki on Twitter.

Apart from leading the Philadelphia Phillies to their first World Series championship in 1980, Green managed the Mets from 1993-96, accumulating a 229-283 (.447) record.

He was then replaced by Bobby Valentine in 1996, who was the first manager in team history to lead the Mets to back-to-back playoff appearances in 1999 and 2000, respectively.

As a player, Green made five appearances for the Mets in 1966, as well as spending two tours of duty with the Phillies and one year for the Washington Senators.

We here at MMO send our condolences to Green’s family during this tough time.
