Baseball America has named the Top 10 most talented young organizations in baseball. Unlike most Baseball America lists, this one looks at both the depth of a team’s farm system as well as the talent on the major league roster.
With this being Baseball America, the caveat for the list is that they are analyzing players that are 25 and under. This means players like Yoenis Cespedes did not qualify.
Even with that caveat, the Mets organization was ranked the seventh best in baseball.
At the major league level, Baseball America named the young core as Noah Syndergaard (24), Michael Conforto (24), and Wilmer Flores (25).
Not too far behind them is a trio of 23-year old major league ready prospects in Robert Gsellman, Gavin Cecchini, and Brandon Nimmo.
Then comes to the well stocked Mets farm system headlined by Amed Rosario (21) and Dominic Smith (21). Overall, Baseball America ranks the Mets minor league system as the 15th best in baseball.
Looking at the talent at the major league level as well as the young talent on the horizon, it appears the Mets are poised for success in not just 2017 but for many years to follow.
