Mets All Star Jacob deGrom has been named the 2015 Wilson Defensive Player of the Year at pitcher.
The award is separate from the Rawlings Gold Gloves, for which deGrom was not even nominated. Zack Greinke won the NL award for pitchers. Regardless, Wilson has recognized deGrom for his outstanding defensive play.
The former Stetson shortstop has never committed an error in his major league career, spanning 331.1 innings. Here are the other winners:

Andrelton Simmons was named the overall Wilson Defensive Player of the Year.
Buster Posey, Andrelton Simmons, Jacob deGrom, and Kevin Pillar did not win Gold Gloves.
The award has become more popular and legitimized since it’s founding in 2012, as it utilizes both traditional defensive statistics and advanced metrics. Congratulations to Jacob deGrom for winning this honor, good to see him recognized.
