David Wright continued with his rehab yesterday with the St. Lucie Mets where he went 2-for-5 with two singles as well as a fielding error while playing eight innings.
Wright has played in four games thus far, with four hits in 12 at-bats and all of the hits were singles. According to Kristie Ackert of The Daily News, the plan right now is for Wright to rejoin the big-league squad in Colorado next weekend if he can make it through this 10-day rehab program without pain and discomfort, while swinging a solid bat. Accrete also noted that a Mets source said that the plan is very strict and for Wright to return next weekend, he will have to react well to his first live-game action in four months.
It’s possible the Mets move Wright’s rehab to another minor-league affiliate due to the rain in Florida that has already shortened one of his rehab starts.
